My favourites of last month. A month full of returns, beautiful lyrics and most of all emotional music.
Newcomers (for me at least) : The Dandelion, Julien Baker and Fossa are probably what I will remember this month by, still it is packed with songs that I will play into next year.
Majical Cloudz, Savages, Poliça & Tweaks (previously Pin Tweaks) have confirmed their place in my soul. "If it ever goes wrong, I'll write you into all of my songs." Doesn't get more sad and beautiful at the same time. Typical Cloudz. One thing is for sure, I have had worse lists on here.

Had this one still prepared for you. My favourites from July. Simply Said I fell in love with the noise-rock of Lightning Bolt, while most of the other music is really dreamy, must've been my state of mind that caused this playlist to turn out the way it did. Ironically the toughest song lands on number one.
Look into this band if you have tendencies to the extreme, both in stage performance and in how you like your music.

Time for another top 20. Listened to a lot during the month and an artist I can keep recommending is on the number one spot. Barbarossa. And that while he's changed his sound a lot. More floating out there somewhere, different vocal style, more melancholy perhaps, more electronics for sure. Still love it.

The first part of the Best Kept Secret line-up has been confirmed and it's impressive, again. If you ask me, in the Netherlands, this is where you have to be this summer when it comes to good alternative music. It's completely clear in February.
And my favorite twenty tracks from December, with a Indie neo-classic by Panda Bear on the first spot. A track that will be remembered for years to come. And I Have become a big fan of Dutch outfit PAUW. Great band.

Allah Las has impressed with the liveliness of their instrumental songs and how well they mix with their song that do include vocals. No Werewolf takes you back to the 60ies vibe even more than the material of the previous album. It's hard not to imagine a Western-setting when listening to this. Amazing track.
And I believe a premier for this blog to have a song with no vocals on the top spot.

Best band/track of the month: Only one serious contender if you ask me: Eagulls. Their single Tough Luck shows what the band is all about. Rough but Smooth melodic Punk with honestly no real comparison at the moment. Be sure to check out their LP.
