A music blog trying to make great music (both new & old) known to a larger audience, by posting daily tracks and news. All this from the perspective of a Dutch biology student. Enjoy.
Absolutely beautiful piece of modular synthesizer work. Bissonette is a new name for me, and i found out there is much more. While this is from his end-of-2015 release, his previous records have been received very positively as well. This should be a soundtrack for a movie, truly fascinating electronic track. Dream away people, dream away.
It's been a long time since I've blogged this actively, but the love for it will always resurface. And the biggest reason for that is the music itself. There are a lot of interesting things going on right now, there is a lot of music worth mentioning.
As is the case with The Soft Moon. The Soft Moon has always an intriguing outfit, discovering their neo-post-punk sound with ease, and taking us along for the ride.
Still, you can arguably state that The Soft Moon has yet again taken the next step in their music and a video to go along with it. With "Wasting" they show a sense of urgency, whilst believing patience in tracks is good. It gives the track an unprecedented atmosphere, even for a band that is already known for being able to create just that. And the vocals are totally creepy this time around.
The video (directed by Y2K) is a peculiar one. The main character (singer) gets injected with some kind of serum and then it starts. The track speeds up, strange images and colors flash the screen. artful images become clear on his face. The old man must be evil. It's a fascinating piece of work really. Could be the soundtrack to some terrifying sci-fi flick.
And it's my video of the week!
By the way added their self-titled 2010 album to the Full-LPs playlist on the youtube channel.
As so often, earlier this week I found a new video of a Villagers single, that at first didn't stick, but I can say it has come to life for me after a dozen listens, and now it is one of the most fascinating things I've discovered during August. The style alone of this video, makes it fascinating to watch, and the song is not particularly bad either, although is for the experimental minded people around.
These Irish folks have only one full album jet, with the second launching this october on Domino Records(which is a record label that has proven to be a positive influence for many artists).
Let's just hope they do not reach the shore too soon.
