Another one of my recommendations from last year: Light up Gold, made in 2012, released in 2013 when PC moved to larger record label What's Your Rupture?
12. Parquet Courts - Light Up Gold, What's Your Rupture?, January 15th, Punkrock/Indie/Post-Punk
On their breakthrough record, Parquet Courts has shown to be the masters in fast, rough-edged punk songs, that are hilarious now and then, as only punk music can be. Where other bands forget to produce anthem-like songs, PC has a few, but most of all flagship Stoned and Starving is one hell of a ride. On the one hand they represent 90ies nostalgia, on the other this band represents the new generation of punk for the so-called 'Pitchfork-generation'.
Epic "Stoned and Starving" live:
Definitely anticipating on more to come from this band!
